On Sunday, 11th August eight hardy tennis players competed for the President’s Trophy – a mixed doubles tournament at Norbreck Bowling and Tennis Club.
The re-scheduled tournament took place under low cloud and with the occasional drizzle – the poor weather conditions no doubt accounting for the lower than usual turnout.
However, the tennis was highly competitive and the afternoon was enjoyed by all who took part.
The winners were Lynn Reid and Tyler Cleary, who defeated Julie Whalley and Callum Luce 7-5 in a closely-fought final.
