Prestigious Awards for Norbreck’s Young Volunteers

Three of Norbreck Bowling and Tennis Club’s youngest members received top awards at an Oscars style ceremony, celebrating community sports, on Thursday 1st March at Winter Gardens, Blackpool.

Ella Whitehead stepped forward as the overall winner of the Volunteer of the Year Award, while Georgia and Amelia received runner up awards in the same category.

Now that is a clean sweep!

The girls, who were also recently successful in achieving their LTA Tennis Leader qualifications, were nominated for the awards by coach Paul Bentley for all of their efforts and commitment to the club and helping coach children of all ages.

The Blackpool Community Sports Awards have been been presented for over 25 years, celebrating the dedication and commitment of coaches, teams and volunteers across the town.

Maria Kirkland, Blackpool Council’s Cabinet Member for Third Sector Engagement and Leisure Services said:

“These awards are about celebrating people who go the extra mile to get people into sport as well as celebrating the amazing sporting talent that Blackpool has to offer.”

Huge congratulations to our Volunteers of the Year – Ella, Georgia and Amelia.

Special thanks also to Paul Bentley for his time and commitment to tennis and youth sports development at the Norbreck Club.
