The new tennis season at NB&TC got up and running with a mixed doubles competition held on Sunday, 2nd May.
The event coincided with a competition on the bowling green and the club bar opening for the first time in months for outdoor consumption. So a busy day at NB&TC and a reminder of what we used to take for granted and, hopefully, a glimpse of better days ahead.
The tennis players taking part in the competition had to face an extra challenge – the club had arranged for a video cameraman to record the day’s proceedings to help promote the club and the cameraman even ventured into the court during play at times, which caused some interesting moments for the tennis players!
The weather was kind, the games were very competitive and there was some excellent tennis on display throughout the afternoon. The winners of the competition were Clare Abram and Yakob Khalaf, who defeated Lynn Reid and Terry Riley in the final match.
