Bowling Green Maintenance/Closure October 9th

The season has now finished for almost all of our teams, with only the Men’s Monday afternoon league continuing for a further four weeks.

The Men’s Wednesday night team finished their season in second place, and will be promoted back to the FABA league first division next year. This is undoubtedly the strongest Men’s league on the Fylde Coast, and possibly the North West, and whilst this will be a challenge, I believe it’s where a club like ours should be.

Both the Ladies afternoon and evening 1st teams also finished runners-up in their respective leagues, both teams narrowly missing out on being crowned champions by only three and four points respectively, and with the outcome of each league going all the way to the very last game of the season.

Congratulations go to every team for a successful season, and whilst we have had many excellent individual performances throughout the year, a special mention has to be given to Sandra Polke for finishing top of both the Ladies Evening and the Ladies Afternoon Division One league merits, an absolutely excellent achievement and well deserved.

The final league match of the season is scheduled for the afternoon of Monday 3rd October.

Our final “Give Bowls a Go” session will be Monday October 3rd

The final Friday Scramble will take place on Friday 7th October

Thanks to all who have taken part this year, players, coaches & our caterers, making it the great success
it has been.

The bowling green will therefore officially close on Sunday 9th October

Significant work and routine maintenance on the green has been scheduled to commence the following week
