Bowling Green Is Now Open

the 2023 bowling season is now underway and the following maybe of interest to everyone.

GREEN OPENING
The bowling green is now officially open as of Saturday 18th March

BOWLING LEAGUES
Fixtures for the new season for the majority of our bowling leagues are now available to view on the online-bowls.org website.
Whilst most leagues will recommence in early April, the actual first match of the season will be on Monday afternoon, March 27th, with the Mens Welcome League first team hosting Lowther Gardens.

COFFEE MORNING
The Ladies Section have arranged for our Coffee Morning to be held on Saturday 29th April. More information and details will be provided nearer the time, and as this is one of the Bowling Sections major fund raising activities of the year, everybody’s support would be greatly appreciated.

COMPETITIONS
It is anticipated that our first internal competition will be held towards the end of April. Details will be provided closer to the time, together with a list of all competitions for the year.

COMPETITION CATERING
It was agreed at our last AGM to form a ‘catering committee’ to manage the provision of refreshments at our bowling competitions throughout the year. The first meeting of this ‘committee’ has been arranged for Sunday 5th March at 11am, and anybody who is willing to help is requested to attend. If anybody is unable to attend, but would like to be involved, please notify our Ladies Secretary, Ann Court.

BOWLING TEAM FEES
It was also agreed at the AGM to implement a charge of £5 per player/per team for the coming season, across all our teams (mens, ladies and mixed). Can we request that team captains(or nominated representatives) collect this from their regular players and when fully collected please pass it to our treasurer (Ann Court). Also, a reminder, that it was agreed that the charge for tea/coffee/biscuits would be set at £1 for the coming season.

Our thanks to Ian Court for these updates
